Age / Legal requirements:


You must be at least 18 to order any product from us.  By placing an order with Horizon Bladeworks you attest that you are of legal age to own and/or posses and/or use the item purchased.   Furthermore you agree that you understand your state and local laws concerning the purchase, ownership, possession and use of any item you purchase.  You agree to take full responsibility for obeying all federal, state and local laws, restrictions, and regulations.  Some items sold by Horizon Bladeworks may be governed by Federal Law (see Auto Law & Legal Status Terms below).  A release form may be required by some states. If you are notified that we need a release form you can copy the form at the bottom of this page.  Know that all packages will be shipped with signature required.  No exceptions.

All transactions with Horizon Outdoors the Seller, or it's subsidiaries are considered to originate in the state of North Carolina and are subject to North Carolina law.   Buyer agrees that any and all legal matters concerning any transaction between the buyer and the seller will be handled in the jurisdiction of North Carolina.

Credit card orders:

We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover .  We do not accept Paypal.   By ordering from Horizon Bladeworks you attest that you are the legal owner of the credit card used.  When placing an order through this site, you must click that you agree to the terms and conditions set forth.  Charges are made at the time the order is placed.  If a refund is requested, the refunded will be removed from our account but may take a few business days for the funds to be processed by your bank and/or credit card account.   Furthermore you agree to handle any payment disputes directly with our company and no third party.   Should the buyer undertake any inappropriate action, such as a charge back or other attempt to wrongfully deprive or defraud the seller, all costs associated with that action will be the responsibility of the buyer and buyer authorizes seller to levy those charges onto the credit card on file.  Any attempts to purchase an item marked $1.00 or less is obviously an attempt to defraud us and will be treated as such.  There will be a $45.00 charge to your credit card for a charge back if the matter cannot be resolved due to this matter and will be taken up with our local authorities as well as yours.  We will work with you to resolve the matter prior to doing so.  Please be reasonable and we will be also.

Shipping Information:

We endeavor to ship all items ordered before 12:00 NOON Eastern Standard time the same day the order is placed.  Orders placed after 12:00 NOON may be sent the same day when possible or may be shipped the following day depending on when UPS picks up.  We offer UPS ground, 2nd day, 3 day as well as Next day shipping.  All orders are double checked, inspected, weighed and shipped for delivery with the safety and security of both parties in mind.  Also, please keep in mind the shipping weight shown on the description is NOT what the knife weighs.  It is simply used to determine shipping charges.
 

Ground shipping may take 5 to 7 days and packages are insured for $100.00.  If you wish your package to be insured for the actual value, you must request via email prior to shipping for extra insurance and pay the extra insurance cost. If the package is lost it is your responsibility to file the claim with UPS. We will provide you with the tracking number.


Shipping rates are based on the shipping method chosen and security features.  If your item is returned and we have to return it to you for any reason you will be charged an additional shipping charge.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  If you want the packages shipped insured for the actual value of the item or items, or if you want your package shipped with SIGNATURE REQUIRED please let us know BEFORE IT SHIPS and we'll adjust your card accordingly.
Shipping is NON REFUNDABLE if you decide to return an item.

 

When we ship your order you will receive a tracking number with estimated delivery date shortly after UPS picks up, usually around 5:00 PM Eastern Standard time directly from UPS.  If you do not receive it, please email us at horizonbladeworksales@gmail.com and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.  You are responsible for being there, having somebody there or making arrangements with your local UPS hub to pick up the package.  If the package is returned to us because you weren't available it will be treated as a return and return fees apply. If you want us to RE-SEND the item there will be a second shipping charge. 

We cannot ship out of the USA except to Military A.P.O addresses:
SHIPPING TO A MILITARY A.P.O BOX is ALWAYS FREE!
 WE DO NOT SHIP THROUGH USPS or TO CIVILIAN P.O. BOXES!
We are not set up to accept international credit card, also, we do not ship internationally so please do not ask.
We do not ship to warehouses for export to other countries, again, please do not ask.

APO shipping is ONLY available to MILITARY POST OFFICES.  Anybody choosing “APO SHIPPING” in order to try to get free shipping reserved for our troops will be charged a standard shipping fee.  Please be aware that if you choose A.P.O shipping that there is no guarantee of when your package will arrive.  I'm sure anybody familiar with the A.P.O system understands this.  Because A.P.O shipping requires us to actually take packages into town, which is quite a way, we ship .P.O. once a week.  If you choose A.P.O. shipping as your shipping method and you are not at an A.P.O. address, we will automatically assume you want ground and will charge your card accordingly and ship your package via UPS ground.  Please make arrangements for someone to be available to sign for the package.

 

Shipping:

 

There are certain areas that may REQUIRE require higher costs than usual and may even require items be sent 2nd day air.  Alaska and Hawaii are two of those areas but there are others scattered in some of the less accessible lower 48.  If you order and choose regular UPS ground to those areas we may contact you to let you know if it requires more to ship your item.  Some areas may REQUIRE 2ND DAY AIR and we'll contact you prior to adjusting your card to reflect the 2ND DAY AIR SHIPPING CHARGE.


Next day and 2nd DAY AIR is a SHIPPING METHOD and NOT a GUARANTEED DELIVERY TIME.  If you choose next day or second day air your item will be sent accordingly but these are SHIPPING METHODS and should not be mistaken for any guarantee that you will receive your item in 24 or 48 hours.  Depending on how you pay your credit card company might not release your payment into our account right away.  PLEASE NOTE:  We will not send an item until your credit card company tenders the funds to our account.  Even with next day or 2nd day shipping a 3 to 5 day wait is not uncommon.  Shipping charges are non refundable.  If you order on Friday for Next day, your package will not be delivered until Monday with Standard Next Day shipping unless you make special arrangements with us via email for Saturday shipping which will require an additional $40 fee which will be added to your credit card. 
 
Ground shipping may take 5 to 7 days.  If you wish your package to be insured for the actual value, you must request via email prior to shipping for extra insurance and pay the extra insurance cost. 
 
Note:  When payment is made by check or money order, your package will not ship until payment has cleared.   No exceptions.

Horizon Bladeworks makes NO guarantees about shipping time.  We will do our best to stay within the specified time frames indicated on our website, however exceptions may result.  Examples of exceptions include but are not limited to:  Customer verification, declined credit cards, restricted items, weather conditions, employee sickness, product unavailability, etc...  (We do our best to keep our site up to date, however, a product may sell out prior to your order coming in.  If this occurs we will notify you as soon as possible and offer you an alternate item.  Customer satisfaction is our top priority.)  Occasionally, due to weather conditions there may be delays in delivery.  This is beyond our control and we're very sorry if it happens.  We'll do our best to inform you if at all possible. 


Minimum orders and Pricing

Website mistakes (i.e. pricing errors, knife misinformation, stock discrepancies, etc) are inevitable.  Horizon Bladeworks is not required to honor pricing errors.  At our discretion we may cancel any order where we determine there has been a pricing error.   If we propagate knife misinformation you have the right to return your purchased product without penalty (subject to the return policy of our website)   If there is a stock discrepancy you have the right to retain your order until it can be filled or to cancel your order without penalty.  If you order and item and it is out of stock, we will notify you as soon as possible and give you the opportunity to choose an alternate item.  Please keep in mind that your card is charged at the time of purchase but we will refund your card immediately if you decide not to choose an alternate product.  Minimum order $45.00. 

 

PLEASE NOTE:  Please read this and take it in the light that it is intended....

Anyone with common sense and dignity will understand:  Any item showing a price of $1.00 or less is currently not available so please do not attempt to purchase as it will not be shipped.  If you attempt to place an order for items with prices marked between $0.00 and 1.00 since it is certainly common sense that no knives will be sold at that price we can only assume you are attempting to get away with something.  You will be charged a $25.00 service fee for our time in having to adjust credit cards as our minimum order is $45.00.   Please do not attempt to claim that we are trying to defraud you when you are the one attempting to do so (or else pretty naive) You are taking our time so don't attempt to in the first place.  This is due to the fact that Google's policy is to have a price on every item.  Thank you!

 

Knife Operation & Warranty

Our guarantee/warranty is that you will get the item you ordered in good working order.  All items we sell are new and unused unless otherwise noted.   If you do not receive a working product we will repair or replace it at our discretion at no charge within time frame outlined in our Return & Exchanges.  If your product arrives broken you agree that you will NOT attempt to "try "to fix it yourself (unless you know you can- in which case you need to keep it)  We will not replace products that have been "fixed" by the buyer.  Additionally we will not replace products that have been not been maintained, broken though neglect or abuse, or otherwise damaged due to unintended use. Also, we do not carry parts.  We're sorry.  Please keep in mind that if a knife is NOT made in the USA it will NOT carry a warranty and cannot be returned.  Also, our Italian knives are genuine Italian knives from Maniago, Italy so they are NOT perfect so don't expect perfection.  They are made by the craftsman who have made them for generations and come with imperfections.  The cheap Italian "style" knives made overseas look "perfect" which is exactly how you can tell you received a fake unless you're paying quite a bit extra for a true custom Italian.  In addition, if you do not know how to operate a knife, ask us.  A picture of closing Italian knives is on the site.  If you attempt to close it by prying it, you cannot return it.  It's yours.  Italian knives also need proper maintenance to keep them functioning well.  If you're not sure how to maintain your Italian knife, just email us at horizonbladeworksales@gmail.com

Returns, Exchanges, and In Store Credit:


Returns are accepted, as long as they are requested within 2 days of receipt of the item and returned within 5 days. You must obtain a Return Authorization before shipping your item back, or your return will not be accepted.

To obtain a Return Authorization, please email Horizon Bladeworks at horizonbladeworksales@gmail.com.  In your email PLEASE describe the problem you might be having.   Many times there is no problem at all other than a buyer not knowing how to properly operate the item.   Most of the time these issues can be fixed with much less time expended than sending an item back that isn’t broken.   Foreign knives carry no warranties or guarantees. Please keep in mind that items that are hand made in Italy may have imperfections. It is the nature off their products. Each one is hand crafted by these artisans who have been handed down their craft by generations. They are authentic, not made by machines and are not returnable. It can be compared to fine oriental rugs. Machine made rugs all look alike with but hand made fine orientals will have imperfections and flaws, will increase in value over time. 

Any item returned MUST BE returned in it’s original condition.  That includes the box and anything that originally came with the item.  PLEASE do not use the retail package as the shipping container.   Items returned in this manner will not be accepted as they can no longer be sold as new.  If you insist we keep the item, you will be charged accordingly.

The buyer is responsible for shipping the item back to us in brand new, unused condition along with any box and/or paperwork that was included with it when received in original condition.  There is a 15% restocking fee on non-defective items.  Once we receive and inspect the item we will issue a refund.   Your refund will be issued in the same form payment was received, unless other arrangements have been made.   We do not refund or reimburse shipping costs and the shipping cost is our ACTUAL shipping cost, not your discounted shipping cost.
 
We strongly recommend you insure any package being returned to us and require any automatic knife be returned via UPS. If your return is lost or damaged there is nothing we can do if you chose to return it uninsured or via the US Postal Service.

Exchanges are welcome as long as they are done within 5 days.  You must obtain a Return Authorization number before shipping your item back.  To obtain a Return Authorization number email Horizon Bladeworks at horizonbladeworksales@gmail.com with the reason for the return. There are no restocking fees for exchanges with items of equal or greater value, although shipping charges do apply.  Please keep in mind that handle materials made of natural materials may vary from the images on the site.  This is not a valid reason for return.  Also, some natural materials will have dents, marks and minor cracks which will not affect the knifes performance.  If you wish to return or exchange for another knife it is at your cost. 

We strongly recommend you insure any package being returned to us.   If your return is lost or damaged there is nothing we can do.   As stated above, if the item is being returned for a refund, it will be subject to a 15% restocking fee.   (Please understand that clones and items in the Inexpensive Knives category are not under any warranty and non-returnable.   You can expect them to be in proper working condition as we inspect all knives prior to shipping, however, they are, in most cases, not anodized like the more expensive knives.   In short, you get what you pay for.   Items from over seas and discontinued items carry no warranty and cannot be returned.   We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason or no reason at all.  Abuse of our return policy and excessive returns may be one of those reasons.  Please keep in mind that the photos on our site are representations of the items and may not be the exact items you will receive and/or may vary in color.  Please know what you are buying before you place your order.

Change and Cancellation Policy
If YOU order the wrong items you may change your order up until the time the order is shipped.  Once an order has been shipped if you wish to change an item you must follow the guidelines in the Return & Exchange section (above)

ANY DUPLICATE ORDER THAT IS NOT OUR FAULT AND IS NOT BROUGHT TO OUR ATTENTION BEFORE A CHARGE BACK IS FILED WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY OR ANY IMPROPER CHARGE BACK OR ATTEMPT TO DEFRAUD OR ANY CHARGE BACK FILED WITHIN OUR PREVIOUSLY STATED SHIPPING GUIDELINES WILL BE CHARGED A $45.00 FEE.

 

$25.00 for the nonrefundable CHARGE BACK fee charged to us by the credit card company and a $20.00 administrative fee to cover administrative costs.

Please email Horizon Bladeworks at horizonbladeworksales@gmail.com about any change or cancellation prior to the order's shipment.  If you choose to send an email you must use “order change” or “order cancellation” in your email subject to make sure the email is directed to the correct department so the change or cancellation can be implemented before the order ships. 

BACK-ORDERS:
Sometimes items are back-ordered. If a back-order occurs we will make every effort to fill your order as quickly as possible or offer a replacement of equal or greater value (within reason)  Automatic and switchblade knives are specialty items whether purchased as a collectible piece or as a tool.  Being specialty tools and limited in production these items are manufactured in fairly small numbers compared to say... Snicker Bars or Wonder Bread.  That being the case the market for these items is fairly volatile and since production runs are usually not very large and because of the limited availability of these items, back-orders are always a possibility.  We update our site at least daily but even at that sometimes certain items sell out during the day. Sometimes we can locate a sold out item for you and are happy to try to either find you exactly what you ordered or a suitable replacement.  We will email you for your choice.   If we do not hear from you a partial order may be shipped to expedite delivery of the in stock items purchased.  You may choose to have your card refunded for an out of stock item or chose something similar if an item is back-ordered.


Privacy Policy


No personal information (names, addresses, email addressed, telephone numbers, etc) gathered off our website (from forum registration, orders, newsletter subscribers, personal communication or otherwise) will be sold to anyone at anytime without written permission.   Additionally we will not distribute, give or provide your information to anyone at at time except in the case of fraud, criminal action, or abuse (we define "abuse" as the intention or action of harming our company in any way) In such cases as fraud, criminal action or abuse we reserve the right to distribute customer information to parties we deem appropriate for investigation and or prosecution.

We reserve the right to send out company promotions via email information acquired from correspondence, purchases or other direct contact.   If you do not want to receive promotional material via email simply "opt-out" at the time you create your account with us OR log in to your account and manage your email subscription preferences.  We will respect your privacy.  You can also cancel your subscription directly from any email we send at any time.
 

Auto law & Legal Status Terms:


The Switchblade Act, (Pub.L. 85-623, 72 Stat. 562, enacted on August 12, 1958, and codified in 15 U.S.C. § 1241–1245) prohibits shipment of automatic knives across state lines, with the following exceptions:
(1) to civilian or Armed Forces supply or procurement officers and employees of the Federal Government ordering, procuring, or purchasing such knives in connection with the activities of the Federal Government;
(2) to supply or procurement officers of the National Guard, the Air National guard, or militia of a state, territory or the District of Columbia ordering, procuring, or purchasing such knives in the connection with the activities of such organization;
(3) to supply or procurement officers or employees of the municipal government of the District of Columbia or the government of any State or Territory, or any county, city or other political subdivision of a State or Territory; (4) to manufacturers of such knives or bona fide dealers therein in connection with any shipment made pursuant of an order from any person designated in paragraphs (1) (2) and (3).
Sections 1242 and 1243 of this title shall not apply to -
(1) any common carrier or contract carrier, with respect to any switchblade knife shipped, transported, or delivered for shipment in interstate commerce in the ordinary course of business;
(2) the manufacture, sale, transportation, distribution,possession, or introduction into interstate commerce, of switchblade knives pursuant to contract with the Armed Forces
(3) the Armed Forces or any member or employee thereof acting in the performance of his duty;
(4) the possession, and transportation upon his person, of any switchblade knife with a blade three inches or less in length by any individual who has only one arm; or
(5) a knife that contains a spring, detent, or other mechanism designed to create a bias toward closure of the blade and that requires exertion applied to the blade by hand wrist, or arm to overcome the bias toward closure to assist in opening the knife.

Horizon Bladeworks will not sell to any individual or group outside the State of North Carolina without the above conditions being met. Proper identification may be required before the order is shipped in cases where restricted items are purchased.

It is the responsibility of you, the buyer, not Horizon Bladeworks , the seller, to ascertain and obey all applicable local, state, federal and international laws in regard to the possession, and use, of any item purchased from Horizon Bladeworks.  All equipment is sold subject to public law 90-351, title III, U.S.C., Section 2511, and any local, state or federal ordinances. Attempts at extortion, blackmail or entrapment will be met with legal action.  You agree that if the need arises for potential action against our company you will first attempt to resolve the issue with Horizon Bladeworks or an agreed upon mediator. Buyer agrees that any and all legal matters will be conducted in the State of North Carolina under North Carolina law as this is where the transaction originated.

In some cases we will require the buyer to furnish us with an authorization form.  This form can be copied below for your convenience. Some municipalities have laws that differ from state or federal law.
The purchaser is responsible for ascertaining exactly what your local laws are concerning automatic knives and abiding by those laws.
We cannot possibly keep track of all of these laws and offer no advice on what Federal, State and local laws are applicable to you or your purchase. You are responsible for knowing the laws that are applicable to your purchase and the delivery thereof.

Any item returned MUST BE returned in it’s original condition.  That includes the box and anything that originally came with the item.  PLEASE do not use the retail package as the shipping container.   Items returned in this manner will not be accepted as they can no longer be sold as new.  If you insist we keep the item, you will be charged accordingly.

The buyer is responsible for shipping the item back to us in brand new, unused condition along with any box and/or paperwork that was included with it when received in original condition.  There is a 15% restocking fee on non-defective items.
Once we receive and inspect the item we will issue a refund.   Your refund will be issued in the same form payment was received, unless other arrangements have been made.   We do not refund or reimburse shipping costs and the shipping cost is our ACTUAL shipping cost, not your discounted shipping cost.
 
We strongly recommend you insure any package being returned to us and require any automatic knife be returned via UPS. If your return is lost or damaged there is nothing we can do if you chose to return it uninsured or via the US Postal Service.

Exchanges are welcome as long as they are done within 5 days.  You must obtain a Return Authorization number before shipping your item back.  To obtain a Return Authorization number email Horizon Bladeworks at sales@nicnac.net with the reason for the return.

There are no restocking fees for exchanges with items of equal or greater value, although shipping charges do apply.

We strongly recommend you insure any package being returned to us.   If your return is lost or damaged there is nothing we can do.   As stated above, if the item is being returned for a refund, it will be subject to a 15% restocking fee.   (Please understand that clones and items in the Inexpensive Knives category are not under any warranty and non-returnable.   You can expect them to be in proper working condition as we inspect all knives prior to shipping, however, they are, in most cases, not anodized like the more expensive knives.   In short, you get what you pay for.   Items from over seas and discontinued items carry no warranty and cannot be returned.   We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason or no reason at all.  Abuse of our return policy and excessive returns may be one of those reasons.  Please keep in mind that the photos on our site are representations of the items and may not be the exact items you will receive and/or may vary in color.  Please know what you are buying before you place your order.

Change and Cancellation Policy
If you order the wrong items you may change your order up until the time the order is shipped.  Once an order has been shipped if you wish to change an item you must follow the guidelines in the Return & Exchange section (above).

If you would like to cancel your order you may do so up until the time the order has shipped.  Once an order has been mailed you must follow the guidelines in the Return & Exchange section (above)

ANY DUPLICATE ORDER THAT IS NOT OUR FAULT AND IS NOT BROUGHT TO OUR ATTENTION BEFORE A CHARGE BACK IS FILED WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY OR ANY IMPROPER CHARGE BACK OR ATTEMPT TO DEFRAUD OR ANY CHARGE BACK FILED WITHIN OUR PREVIOUSLY STATED SHIPPING GUIDELINES WILL BE CHARGED A $45.00 FEE.

$25.00 for the nonrefundable CHARGE BACK fee charged to us by the credit card company and a $20.00 administrative fee to cover administrative costs.

Please email Horizon Bladeworks at sales@nicnac.net about any change or cancellation prior to the order's shipment.  If you choose to send an email you must use “order change” or “order cancellation” in your email subject to make sure the email is directed to the correct department so the change or cancellation can be implemented before the order ships.
