The blade shape is a combination of the ancient chokuto straight sword and the classic mohora-zukuri double edge tanto. The grind is what Steve calls a convex zero edge, or appleseed cross section, resulting in an edge that is much stronger than taper or hollow grinds. The massive 0.19” blade thickness continues through the tapered full tang, resulting in incredible strength from tip to butt.

The striking handle is a traditional Japanese cord wrap, resin impregnated, with black ray skin underlays. Combined with the butt pommel, it provides an amazing level of grip.

We have designed a custom injection molded Zytel® sheath for the First Strike. It firmly grips the knife, left or right, and has a removable belt clip plus multiple slots and holes allowing almost infinite carry options on belts, clothing or gear.

This is Marbles all time most popular design and one of the most copied designs EVER!! Stag has been very hard to get for quite some time but we ran into a didtributor that had just gotten some in and we bought a bunch because these are hard to find and when they dry up nobody knows how long it will be before they are back. The combination of the Genuine Stag handle and the stag Pommel is fairly rare in itself. Normall the pommel would be aluminum.

A great knife with a time tested design in a rare configuration. This should be an easy decission.

10 1/2" in length with a 6" blade satin dagger double edge blade, OD green Micarta scales and a hard lined black balistic nylon sheath.. Protech has never before made a Brend Dagger with serrations. No doubt this knife has beautiful symmetry but beauty isn't everything, especially when put to actual real world use. We had several servicemen comment both positively and negitively on serrations but there were quite a few that said they would welcome serrations in certain situations requiring aggressive cutting. For those guys we asked Protech to do a few serrated blades just for us. They are available with one side partially serrated or both sides partially serrated. While the blade with serrations on only one side might not apeal to some p[eoples sense of "style" we thought having a fully honed blade near the rear of the blade sounded perfectly efficient. Serrations do give superior cutting power but sharpening a stick and other tasks are more easily accomplished and controlled using the rear of the blade. Call me whatever for requesting these but if I wanted a knife that was as useful as possible in a varriety of situations, I wouldn't be a bit worried about weather it looked pretty.

Another short novel on serrations:

Many people don't like serrations because they complain they are too hard to sharpen. For those people I say, "you're trying too hard". First of all serrations don't dull as quickly as a straight honed edge. Secondly, there are situations were even dull serrations will out cut a sharp honed edge. Third, and probably most misunderstood, most blades have the serrations ground on only one side of the blade. The back side has no scallops to contend with. Many people buy round, cone or trianglr sharpeners for sharpening serrations and most people screw them up by doing it incorrectly. It's really a LAST RESORT to try sharpening the front, scalloped, part of the blade. A quick run over a sharpening rod or stone ON THE BACK SIDE will substantially true up the serrated edge. It's really very easy. Besides, if you REALLY need them sharpened most good knife companies will do it for you free if you send it back to them or there is usually a professional sharpening service somewhere close by that will resharpen them for less than the cost of shipping. There's no good reason to make it harder than it is.
